Kulliyyah of Science (KOS) was founded in 2000 and was located at the Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge building before moving to parts of the Kulliyyah of Engineering in INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA (IIUM), Gombak Campus. The Kulliyyah is headed by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Kamaruzzaman Yunus.
On 1st December of 2006, Kuliyyah of Science started its operation at the new premises in IIUM Kuantan Campus. About 250 kilometres away from Kuala Lumpur and 1,000 acres of a virtual garden nestled within a valley surrounded by thick forest.
Currently, Kulliyyah of Science has three departments and one Institute i.e. Department of Biomedical Science, Department of Biotechnology, Department of Computational and Theoretical Sciences, and Institute of Oceonography and Maritime.
The faculty, cognizant of the need for it to reflect the fast-changing nature of the sciences, aims to produce graduates with deep theoretical knowledge and highly developed practical skills, whom employers would be eager to recruit. We do this by combining quality teaching with high impact research.
Our curriculum employs a range of teaching methods that not only ensure efficient and effective teaching and learning, but also foster a capacity for independent learning. Parallel to this, we provide an attractive, supportive environment for the development of professional skills and we offer relevant and valuable work placements to all students who wish to take advantage of them.
